Meet the Franklin Interiors West Virginia Team

Great commercial interiors projects do not happen by accident. They happen because the right people are involved from the start, people who understand the space, the budget, the timeline, and most importantly, the client.

Franklin Interiors has been serving West Virginia for years. Along the way, we have built a team in the state that brings more than 70+ years of combined experience to every project they touch. They know their clients. They know their markets. And it shows in the work. Here is a closer look at the people who make it possible.

Sally Wonn-Taylor, Account Executive – Sally has been with Franklin for over 12 years, and her client relationships show it. She has worked with organizations across West Virginia and eastern Kentucky, including the Mountaineer Food Bank, St. Claire Medical Center, Intermountain Electronics, a federal Veterans health facility, and the University of Pikeville.

Her clients describe her best: “Franklin Interiors has truly gone above and beyond. Sally, in particular, has been outstanding to work with. She strikes the perfect balance of professionalism and approachability, and her consistent focus on our best interests has made the entire process seamless and highly positive.”

Sally brings that same care to every project. She also recently became a grandmother, which, if you know Sally, only adds to the warmth she already brings to every room she walks into.

Barry Roberts, Account Executive- Barry has been with Franklin for over 18 years and is based in Huntington. He has partnered with some of West Virginia’s most prominent institutions, including Charleston Area Medical Center, Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and several federal agencies.

36 years in this business means Barry has seen nearly every type of project and every type of challenge. Clients lean on that knowledge, and his straightforward, good-humored approach makes even the most complex projects feel manageable. The feedback he’s received reflects it: “Barry & Franklin Interiors consistently deliver a high level of customer satisfaction. Our experience throughout the project, from the timeline to the scheduled updates and progress reports, was seamless and well managed. Communication is already strong, and these regular touchpoints provided added reassurance and clarity.”

Outside of work, Barry is all about his grandkids, and clients who know him well would say that genuine, people-first approach is exactly what makes him so easy to work with.

Kristin Aho Schmalzer, Account Executive – Twenty years with Franklin and a background that starts in project management gives Kristin a perspective that is hard to come by. Because she has lived every phase of a project from the first conversation to the final installation, she knows exactly what her clients need before they have to ask. Her work spans United Hospital Center, Community Care of West Virginia, Mountwest CTC, a federal court system, and a county government office.

The results speak for themselves. After a recent project, one client shared: “Kristin went above and beyond meeting all my expectations.” She knows Franklin’s processes inside and out, and that knowledge shapes every decision she makes on a project.

Outside of work, Kristin is a proud girl mom to two daughters, and anyone who knows her would say that same fierce dedication shows up in everything she does professionally.

Kristin Kraus, Senior Interior Designer and Studio Lead – Kristin Kraus has been with Franklin for nearly nine years and leads design work for some of the firm’s most notable West Virginia projects, including West Virginia University and a global manufacturing company.

Her design philosophy centers on working within existing spaces to create something functional, intentional, and tailored to the people using them. That philosophy shows up in every project she touches. Kristin has a reputation for taking on complex challenges and delivering work that is precise, thorough, and thoughtful from start to finish.

She brings that same care to client relationships. Her ability to walk into a room, clearly articulate Franklin’s design process, and put new clients at ease has made her an invaluable presence in some of the firm’s most important conversations. Kristin is the kind of designer who makes everyone around her, clients and colleagues alike, feel confident in the work.

A mom of three, Kristin knows a thing or two about managing moving parts, and her clients would say that skill translates directly to the work.
