Take Control of Every Asset Your Organization Owns

Share this Posts:

Ask most organizations for a full list of what they own, every desk, chair, monitor, and piece of equipment, and they can’t produce one. Assets pile up over the years and across locations, and at some point the record stops keeping up. It stays a quiet problem until it turns into an expensive one: product bought twice because no one knew the first was already in storage, a space cluttered with furniture nobody uses, good equipment written off because it couldn’t be found.

One client came to us facing exactly that. They were downsizing into a smaller office, and like a lot of organizations, they didn’t have a full record of what they owned. Before they could decide what to keep, they had to answer a harder question first: what do we even have?

Start with what you own

Our team went through their space and inventoried every product, with a photo and a description of each piece’s condition. All of it went into a live dashboard their team could log into and see for themselves, instead of walking the floor to piece it together room by room.

For the first time, they had a clear picture of everything the organization owned, in one place they could open anytime.

Decide what comes, what stays, and what goes

From there, we worked through it with them, product by product. What would come to the new space, down to the monitors and technology they already had. What was still in good shape and worth storing for later, ready to redeploy when they needed it. And what had reached the end of its life and would only crowd a smaller footprint if it came along.

That last part matters more than it sounds. Deciding what to let go of is what keeps a new, smaller space from filling back up with product no one uses.

Store what’s worth keeping, safely

The furniture and equipment they chose to hold onto went into our warehouse: 64,000 square feet, temperature-controlled and secure, so they never

had to wonder whether their products were somewhere safe. Everything in storage stayed on the same dashboard, which means redeploying a piece later is a matter of looking it up, not tracking it down.

A fresh start that keeps working

The payoff went past the move itself. Because they finally knew what they owned, they stopped buying duplicates of things already sitting in storage, which saved real money. They walked into their new space organized, with a clean start and an online inventory that keeps working for them. As they buy new product for the new office, it goes onto the same system, a tool their organization can build on for years.

Know what you own before you need to

Most organizations don’t have a clean record of what they own until something forces them to make one, and usually when there’s the least time to spare. It doesn’t have to happen that way.

Whether you’re planning a move, opening or consolidating a location, or you just want a real handle on the assets you already have, we can help you inventory all of it, store what’s worth keeping, and see everything in one place.
